Bremen educators announce their picks for school board

BREMEN – The following statement is attributable to the Bremen District 228 Joint Faculty Association (JFA) President Stephen Hogan:

“Through exhaustive dialogue and research, the Bremen High School District 228 (BHSD228) Joint Faculty Association proudly endorses the following three candidates in the upcoming BHSD228 Board of Education election: Marcus Douglas, Mary List and Deborah Stearns. The three candidates’ positions on important challenges facing our community schools provide a solid rationale for our full confidence in their leadership.

All three candidates have demonstrated a vision to best prepare the students of BHSD228 to meet the needs of a fast-changing world. Through their collaborative approaches with students, parents and staff members with transparent integrity, these candidates will lead our schools to highly respected levels of scholarship.

The 350 faculty members of the JFA, strongly encourage the BHSD228 community to please vote and support the candidacy of these dynamic leaders of the district.”

District 228 has four schools: Bremen High School, Hillcrest High School, Oak Forest High School and Tinley Park High School, and serves more than 5,000 students. BHSD228-JFA has 350 members who are teachers, social workers, counselors, nurses, psychologists, librarians and speech and language pathologists.
