The 2017 NEA Representative Assembly (RA) will convene at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC). The first caucus of the Illinois Education Association-NEA (IEA) delegation will be held at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017. Morning meetings of the IEA caucus are scheduled for 7:00 a.m. on July 1, and each morning thereafter. Delegates should plan on attending all caucus meetings. The first NEA RA business session will be held on July 2. Based on recent experience, delegates should expect the final session to adjourn no earlier than 6:00 p.m. on July 5. Each year delegates have the opportunity to volunteer part of their time by participating in organized activities that give back to the Host Community. The NEA Community Outreach Committee has planned volunteer opportunities primarily for the two days before the NEA RA. View the details.
Guidelines for Delegates with Physical Challenges
Registration for Delegates with Physical Challenges is now open. To receive transportation services, delegates who qualify for Physically Challenged Services must fill out the online form for Physically Challenged Services and submit it by June 1, 2017. Transportation is provided for official Annual Meeting events only and does not include airport transfers or State-affiliate sponsored functions and events. Getting from the Airport to the Hotel
For all delegates attending the NEA RA, information about public ground-transportation options to and from Boston Logan International Airport, including bus, shuttle, and taxi. View ground-travel information.
Public transportation is a good option for IEA delegates trying to get from the airport to the Westin Waterfront, Renaissance, or Aloft/Element.
