Decatur Education Association stands with teaching assistants

DECATUR – The following quote can be attributed to Decatur Education Association (DEA) President Chrissy Petitt:

“The Decatur Education Association stands united with the Decatur Federation of Teaching Assistants (DFTA) in its effort to negotiate a fair contract with affordable, accessible health care. Members of DFTA perform some of the most vital jobs in our school buildings. Attracting and retaining the most qualified and caring people to those positions starts with providing benefits that allow DFTA members to support their families and take their own children to the doctor. DEA supports DFTA in its quest for a fair contract.”

DFTA is expected to go on strike starting Tues., Oct. 29.
