Know Me, Know My Name

One of the most memorable presentations during the 2015 IEA Representative Assembly came from marriage and family therapist Nelba Marquez-Greene.

Greene’s daughter was one of the victims of the Newtown school shooting. Ms Marquez-Greene spoke to the delegates about her daughter. Her theme was “Love wins.”

During her presentation, Ms Marquez-Greene spoke of a program called, Know Me, Know My Name. It is a cost-free way for educators to identify and make contact with children who are in danger of slipping through the cracks at school.

Many delegates expressed interest in the program. With the help of Ms Marquez-Greene, a plan for implementing Know Me, Know My Name at any school has been developed. Watch the short video above explaining the program, then download the plan below.
