MEDIA ADVISORY: District 228 educators, community, IEA members to rally for a fair contract

WHAT: Wear blue and stand in support of BHS-D228-JFA bargaining team ahead of mediation session

WHERE: Hillcrest High School (17401 Pulaski Rd, Country Club Hills)

WHEN: Wed., Oct. 30 at 3:45 p.m.

NOTE: The BHS-D228-JFA have been in negotiations with District 228 for 11 months. They’ve been working without a contract since July 31. BHS-D228-JFA members previously authorized a strike. Key issues at the bargaining table are competitive compensation and class size.

District 228 has four schools, Bremen High School, Hillcrest High School, Oak Forest High School and Tinley Park High School, and serves more than 5,000 students. D228-JFA has 353 members who are teachers, social workers, counselors, nurses, psychologists, librarians and speech and language pathologists.
