NOTE: The Illinois Education Association has released the following statement attributable to IEA President Kathi Griffin in support of educators across the state advocating for their students’ rights to quality public education:

“We want to turn Illinois #RedForEd on Wednesday for our members who are on strike in Mendota and for our members in Addison who could go on strike Thurs., Oct. 24. And, we want to send a message of support to our brothers and sisters of the CTU in Chicago by wearing red, as well. To all of you: we’re with you. You have the strength of the IEA behind you. We are proud that our educators are fighting for the schools their students deserve. We support our members using their collective voice to advocate for their students’ rights to quality public education.”
