MEDIA ADVISORY: Springfield Education Association rally for fair contract

WHAT: Rally in support of smaller class sizes, renewed district focus and resources for at risk students (alternative education), school safety and security,  pay equity for paraprofessionals, more psychologists, nurses and social workers, and salary and benefit improvements.

WHO: Hundreds of Springfield Education Association (SEA) members, which includes teachers and support professionals

WHERE: District 186 Administrative Offices (1900 W. Monroe, Springfield)

WHEN: Monday, Sept 16, 6 p.m.

NOTE: The Springfield Education Association and the District 186 Board of Education (BOE) have been in contract negotiations for the last four months without coming to an agreement on a new  contract. The nearly 1,300 members of the SEA, comprised of teachers and support professionals, have been working since mid-August without a contract.
