Glenbard Educators Announce Recommendations for District 87 School Board

Glenbard – The Glenbard Education Association (GEA) is recommending candidates Margaret DeLaRosa, James Shannon, Hetal Lee and Martha Mueller in the upcoming Glenbard Township High School District 87 board election.

GEA represents approximately 600 teachers, librarians, school counselors, social workers, psychologists, nurses, student interventionists, instructional coaches and instructional technology specialists who serve the nearly 8,000 students attending Glenbard North, South, East and West High Schools.

GEA is mobilized and working with allies in District 87 on phone banking, canvassing, and postcard writing.

The following statement is attributable to GEA President Kevin Sutton:

“We firmly believe Margaret DeLaRosa, James Shannon, Hetal Lee and Martha Mueller are the best choices for our students and our public schools. They’ve pledged to work with all stakeholders to maintain Glenbard’s tradition of providing a quality public education for all students. These four candidates are not just candidates, they’re also parents of students who’ve attended District 87’s high schools. They’re experienced, student-focused and committed to serving our community by uniting our students, parents, educators, staff, administrators and board.”

The GEA Executive Committee completed an extensive vetting process to get to know each candidate, including reviewing questionnaires and conducting interviews. To learn more about GEA’s recommended candidates and how to vote in the April 4 election, visit the website GlenbardElection.org.
