BENSONVILLE – The Fenton Education Association (FEA) recommends John Radzinski, Thalia Anguiano, Joe Minard and Xavier Pete for the Fenton High School District 100 School Board.
FEA members plan to meet on both Sat., March 27, and Sat., April 3, at 10 a.m. at Target (401 W. Irving Park Rd., Wood Dale). Educators will go door-to-door to raise awareness about the school board election and their recommended candidates. FEA has spent every Saturday since February canvassing the community side by side with these endorsed candidates.
The following is a statement from FEA President Patrick Escobedo:
“Being a member of the Fenton school board requires working well with a broad variety of groups, all of whom have a unique stake and perspective in how a school runs. These candidates understand the benefit of hearing the perspectives of community members, parents, students, administrators and educators. They understand that Fenton will best serve Bensenville and Wood Dale when they are connected with all stakeholder groups and engaged in ongoing dialogue with those groups to inform their leadership.
In addition to collaboration and communication, these candidates understand the significant responsibility they have to their constituents in the community to be thoughtful stewards of school resources. Fenton is the only public high school in Bensenville and Wood Dale, making it an invaluable community asset. Our candidates are committed to the responsible spending of your tax dollars and oversight of the administration of the building. They know their decisions and leadership will have major implications for the success of our students.”
The Fenton Education Association represents 111 teachers, school counselors, social workers, and other professionals working at Fenton Community High School.
In the fall of 2020, the FEA began a thorough vetting process of community leaders who expressed an interest in serving on the District 100 Board of Education. The FEA invited all potential candidates, including incumbents, to fill out a written questionnaire and to come for an interview. These candidates are committed to engagement with the community, transparency of public business, and communication with all stakeholders.
