Mentoring is more than a professional learning tool. It is a powerful organizing strategy that builds stronger locals by developing leaders, deepening member engagement, and creating lasting connections among Education Support Professionals (ESPs). In this interactive session, participants will learn how to design, launch, and sustain an ESP mentoring program that strengthens their local’s leadership pipeline, supports new and experienced members, and fosters a culture of collaboration and belonging.
Drawing on proven practices in leadership development, adult learning, and union organizing, participants will explore the essential components of a successful mentoring program, including program design, mentor recruitment and preparation, participant engagement, implementation, evaluation, and long-term sustainability. Attendees will leave with practical tools, adaptable resources, and a step-by-step action plan to implement a mentoring program that develops leaders, empowers members, strengthens workplace relationships, and builds the organizational capacity of their local.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided, giving participants the opportunity to network, share ideas, and build connections with fellow ESP leaders throughout the day.
