When students are healthy, safe, supported, engaged and challenged, they are then able to learn to the best of their ability. Becoming “trauma-informed” is one key aspect of creating such learning environments. The Illinois Education Association along with the Partnership for Resilience are committed to provide IEA members with the most up-to-date best trauma-informed training practices statewide.
Are you interested in learning more about ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences)?
Join us for the 2 ½ day training to discover the ACEs research, examine components of trauma informed schools and gather tools to assist students with building their resiliency and strengthening their executive function skills. Participants will have the opportunity to assess where their organization is on the continuum of becoming trauma-informed, determine their portals of entry and spheres of influence in order to raise the level of awareness and knowledge base in their own settings. Formerly known as training of trainers, these sessions lay the groundwork that will assist you and your team in building trauma-informed systems.
