MEDIA ADVISORY: Bourbonnais teachers to hold informational picket after negotiations stall

WHAT: Information picket in support of a fair contract for Bourbonnais Education Association (BEA) 

WHEN: Tues., Jan 26, 4:15-5:15 p.m.

WHERE: 

  • In front of Shabbona (321 Convent St.) and Shepard (325 Convent St.) Schools
  • 45 and Armour Rd

NOTE: Contract negotiations between the Bourbonnais Elementary School District 53 Board of Education and BEA teachers have stalled. The BEA can legally go on strike as soon as Feb. 5. The BEA represents 167 teachers, speech pathologists, psychologists and social workers who serve more than 2400 students. More information can be found here.

**Anyone attending the information picket is asked to wear a mask and to safely social distance per the Centers for Disease Control and Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines.
