The US Department of Education’s “Education Drives America” Back-to-School Bus Tour makes a stop in southern Illinois on Wednesday, September 19.
The tour highlights education successes and is intended to engage communities in conversations about school reform, college affordability and the link between education and jobs.
Representing the U.S. Dept. of Education will be former IEA Executive Director Jo Anderson, now a senior advisor to Education Secretary Arne Duncan.
Bring questions, suggestions and concerns to the IEA Mt. Vernon Region Office. The bus will be arriving at 3:30pm and departing at 5:00pm.
The Mt. Vernon IEA office is located at 1100C S. 42nd St.
